People often pay exclusive attention to their verbal communication, but they shouldn’t really be doing that. Beyond words, life is a fascinating world of body language. In this part of the training we introduce practical science-based nonverbal tools people can use to increase the way they interact with others in their personal and professional lives. Specifically, we talk about conscious differentiation of body posture and the influence it has on others’ perceptions, hand gesture management to enhance our message, voice tricks that can help us captivate our respective audience, touching behavior within the workplace, the strategic use of proxemics, and the power of decoding others’ micro-facial expressions. In the final part of the training we discuss the truth about lies. Specifically, we talk about fundamental principles of modern FBI deception detection. Implications are discussed in the context of HR and leadership.
